A new form of the game coming to Tasmania very soon:
Aussie 15's allows 15 players per team. Each batsmen is only allowed to face 15 balls. The fielding team is able to rotate their fielders around, too.
The rule changes don't end there. There's double scoring zones and double plays (where you can dismiss both batsmen). This could really throw the cat amongst the pigeons. They've even managed to get Ricky Ponting to throw his weight behind the new format, too. He'll be playing in the first game ... assuming he can get enough cricket gear together.
It is designed to a local competition, run in conjunction with some of the local pubs. Sounds like a great excuse to get together and have a bunch of fun.
